Located along the banks of the River Murti opposite the Gorumara National Park on the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas in Northern West Bengal, The Riverwood Forest Retreat – Dooars is an ideal eco-stay away from city.

Set in close proximity to the jungle area that is frequently visited by elephants, this resort is a wildlife enthusiast paradise. It offers guests with an opportunity to experience the vast open grasslands, riverine forests, swamps, woodlands, and streams that make up the terrain of the region.

The Riverwood Forest Retreat has played an important role in pioneering sustainable wildlife tourism in the Dooars region and implemented various eco-friendly processes to adhere to the local ecology.

Located on the fringes of the Gorumara National Park that is renowned for its Indian One Horned Rhinoceros, Elephant, Indian Gaur (Bison), Muntjac and Leopard population along with other wild animals.

• Interact with the local villagers and gain a deeper understanding of their history, culture and day to day lives during a guided village visit organized on request only.
• Head out for a guided nature walk in the buffer zone and learn about the importance of the plants and trees that are part of the landscape of the region and how that affects their culture and way of life. Spot and identify different species of birds and animals that visit the buffer zone.
• Participate in a special bush cooking meal done along with the staff and special guests at the Farm House.
• Dooars is home to a variety of Butterfly species. Visit The Ramsai Butterfly Garden and observe them from close vicinity.
• Set out for a jungle safari and experience the raw, picturesque landscapes of the dense forest and witness the wildlife thriving in their natural habitat.
