"A holiday that conserves bio-diversity and promotes local culture."
SDG 15
Built on the banks of the beautiful monsoon river of Pachdhar that wanders through the buffers of Pench National Park, The Riverwood Forest Retreat is a perfect escape into the wild. Spread over nine acres of woodland and forest gardens, this eco-retreat perfectly blends sustainability with comfort.
Set in close proximity to the jungle area, often deer and other creatures amble into the grounds from the surrounding forest, all of which can be watched from a tall machaan at sunrise or sunset.
The wildlife resort features 21 spacious rooms with views of the forest, private gardens or river. Nestled away from the main hub of lodges, it ensures your bike rides, nature trails or village visits, especially to the potter’s village, are both fascinating and authentic.
The jungle resort has played an important role in promoting sustainable wildlife tourism in the Pench region. It has implemented various eco-friendly processes such as rainwater harvesting, planting indigenous plant species in the surrounding barren land to make it into a haven for bird and insects, and deploy solar panels to harness solar energy, which in turn powers the water heaters and solar lights used at the retreat.
Located in the buffer zone of Pench National Park in a small village called Mundiyareeth, which is 46 km away from the Seoni Railway Station.
